We’re back with the introduction of our team!
Please meet Yulia, our aerials and handstands teacher.

Yulia’s journey as a performing artist began with a lot of dancing. When she was 6 she started taking dance classes which included classical, folk and group dance.

She performed a lot and enjoyed it very much. But after a while the communication with one of the teachers became complicated and Yulia decided to leave even though her mom encouraged her to continue.

After an 8-month break, one of the girls Yulia went to school with told her about a circus studio and Yulia got interested, so she went to a trial class and loved it from the first try. She says she wasn’t talented and didn’t have any special skills, and that during the first year her teacher wasn’t even paying much attention to her. But her persistence and determination to be the first at everything she does made it happen. She started performing a lot again and almost at the same time she began to help her teacher train other kids.

At 14 Yulia started doing aerial hoop, although she was much more interested in aerial silks, but the choice wasn’t hers to make, these were the rules at the studio. And a year after she began studying at the Circus Academy in Kyiv.

During her career as a circus artist in Ukraine Yulia tried a lot of different aerial arts including nets, straps and silks. At the same time she went about handstands as well. She says she is really keen to try new stuff (that’s true, we spotted her trying pole in one of our classes 😉)

Today we continue introducing our amazing teachers to you. Please meet Cristina, she teaches both our Pole Dance Beginner’s classes level 1 and 2, and the HIIT pop-up class to get our students even stronger!

We couldn’t believe it but Cristina’s story begins with being a clumsy and uncoordinated kid who barely passed her PE class at school. Her mom even took her to a doctor for walk correction. Cristina kept trying many different things including contemporary dancing, ballet, even bellydance, but none of those things kept her interested for long.

At the end of 2017 Cristina tried a flying pole class and loved it, nothing could compare to it, not even aerial hoop or silks which she also tried later. After moving from Spain to the Netherlands in 2019 her pole dance schedule included 5 classes a week!

In January 2024 we got Cristina into our crew (which is awesome!), and now she is also a certified heels teacher, so her journey in the pole world continues.

Scylla’s story as a dancer started with hip hop and modern dance. She finished a theatre school in Amsterdam, but her interest for sensuality grew and so she kept exploring. This led her to working in a skr!pclub where she learned a lot about floorwork, pole dancing and lap dance, she also grew in confidence there and got to know a lot more about herself as a dancer.

The first classes she taught were the ones for sensual confidence, but this year Scylla started to teach pole at our studio and through teaching she fell in love with pole even more than heels 👠
